Bayswater is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Bayswater, on the Belgrave railway line. Bayswater is classed as a Premium Station and is in myki Zone 2.Station overviewFacilitiesBayswater is located at the southern end of the Mountain Highway level crossing, and between Station Street and the United Group Rail train maintenance facility, with station access from Station Street.The station consists of two platforms, in an island format, with a large fibro building in the centre. The building houses an enclosed waiting area, ticket facilities and toilets. A myki ticket vending machine is located inside the waiting area. An underpass is located at the Belgrave end of the station.HistoryBayswater station opened on 4 December 1889. The current island platform opened in 1982, as part of the duplication of the line between Bayswater and Ringwood stations. It was once the destination of goods trains conveying cement, the last train running on 24 June 1987 when the traffic was relocated to Lyndhurst station, near Dandenong. Bayswater was upgraded to a Premium Station in 2001.
